Twilight, Travel, and Treats

Reflections of a Twihard on all things twilight, travel, and treats.

Today there were new Remember Me stills posted by Confessions of a Twicrack Addict. I've seen the trailer many times and yes I'm looking forward to it. But then I did a double take at this photo.

New hot, Old hot

Do you remember Remington Steele?

Let me refresh your memory.

I used to adore Pierce Brosnan. It was a puppy dog love. I was so young that I don't think I knew what a peen was. He was the first man I'd watched on TV who had an accent. Mysterious, handsome, arrogant, smart-ass. All the features of the ideal man to lust after but not to love. The day they canceled that show I thought my heart would stop. I didn't understand the feeling. It's the same one I got when they finished filming Eclipse here. Empty.

I had forgotten just how long ago this must have been. They fact that I am now married with two kids and have a career (plus I know what a peen is), did not seem to affect my perception of time. This photo puts it into a bit of perspective. Yes, the 80's were a long time ago.

Laura Holt - back then this hair was okay

Pierce stayed pretty hot through the 90's and for most of this century too.

Even with his role in Mamma Mia, not including the singing (if you can call it that), I was happy to see him as a sex symbol but just one from a good vintage.

But now that he is paired with Rob Pattinson in Remember Me and playing Rob's father no less, my love for Pierce is officially dead.

Even if Rob was born in 1986 (I bet you can all remember where you were then) I say out with the old and in with the new. He's legal but not applying for social security yet. That's a good sign.

I'm glad I wasn't paying attention when this Pierce photo came out in 2008.

Not only would I have fallen down dead from the shock but I wouldn't have had this

to pick me up.

Come back tomorrow for FanFic Fridays. It's gonna get hotter every week.

LOL!! I was a huge Remington Steele fan and loved Pierce Brosnan. I am glad he's playing Rob's dad in this movie, but you're right about one thing . . . it won't matter who's onscreen with Rob . . . my eyes will be trained on him.

Yes, Rob usually steals the show. Well, now he does. Some of his earlier stuff not so much. Did you see Pierce in Mamma Mia? I couldn't watch the dinner song.

I just can't find fault with anything Rob does, yet. I'm sure that day will come, but until then, I find joy in every part he plays. He was so adorkable in The Bad Mother's Handbook and How To Be, hot as Edward Cullen (obviously!), will be the death of me in Remember Me, and set me on fire in Bel Ami. Gah!

And Pierce singing in Mamma Mia was P.A.I.N.F.U.L. No two ways about it!

Now I have to go back and watch those things again. Oh well good to keep me occupied until eclipse comes out.

The Bad Mother's Handbook is on YouTube in eight parts. If you haven't watched it, you need to! The female lead in that has been cast with him in Bel Ami, too. And the best part about How To Be is the DVD extras. I always thought he was drunk in the bar scene, and you can tell on the extras that he totally is. I have listened to him laugh in that part over and over and over again. And someone follows him around with a handheld video camera and asks him questions that he is so cute answering...or not answering, as the case may be. There is an interview during the New Moon press junket added to the end of it and there's such a huge contrast between his interview skills before and after. I love them both, but I also hate the lost innoncence.

My oldest son is named Pierce Edward. I'm not crazy. I swear.

I used to love pierce too (I think its his clean-cut, smooth debonaire look he's got going) - but one of our friends who does set design for the movie industry in vancouver worked on a movie with him and apparantly he was an A$$ to all the crew.... Boo! Robward would never do that, I am so sure!

Oh, I wonder who you are talking about 'wink.' I am not surprised as I think I've heard the same thing. I'm sure Robward wouldn't do that either. Did you hear about him autographing stuff for auction in Hawaii for a montessori school? It's awesome.
