This post is prompted by the 300 hits I get a day on my old blog at wordpress.com with requests for a PDF version of MotU.

Do you know I've just finished reading 50 Shades of Grey? Shocking since I read MotU at least 10 times and have dedicated numerous posts to it and even helped design a MotU blog and quiz. Sigh that I felt like I would be betraying Edward Cullen for Christian Grey.

Well, I am treating them almost like twin brothers and love them both.

I really loved this fanfic. Normally I'm a movie buff and I especially like crime/spy/action thrillers. This was right up my alley.

Plot - Bella is the greatest thief the world's never seen; she is only recognized by her scarlet calling card. Edward is FBI, and has been able to catch every criminal he's come across. Little do they know, they are both about to meet their match.

This story is well written. I think it's actually very difficult to write an action sequence well. But this author managed to describe Bella's stealth jewel thieving tactics in a way that is captivating and easy to follow. There are a lot of action scenes involving thieving and fighting but nothing too gruesome. I absolutely loved watching Bella kick ass.

Spoilers - And of course what would a crime action thriller be without a scene where Edward's in a tux and Bella's dressd to the nines doing the tango together.
In the middle of the story it takes an odd turn. It's enough to make you think - really? This is happening? Does this actually make sense and how is this happening so seamlessly? But if you just go with the flow for a chapter it's fine and the story progression seems to make lots of sense and is very entertaining.

Okay, let me know what you think. If any of you have more crime drama fanfics to recommend I'd love to hear about them. I'm feeling a bit addicted to this genre.

Hit By Destiny by ocdmess

Well here's another angsty long fanfic worth a read. If you are a fan of Emancipation Proclamation then you'll like this one. It's not for the faint of heart - there's bullying, assault, and just downright scary shit that happens.

Plot - Edward in this story is the epitome of the conceited arrogant teenage asshole. Of course he's a beautiful manwhore to boot. Bella is the quiet isolated girl at school who is constantly bullied. No one knows her story and no one cares. She has secrets that eat her up so badly she wants to die. She's nearly killed when Edward crashes his car into her on a dark night. Will they both be saved from their demons by this fateful accident?

My thoughts...

I enjoyed the authors style of writing and appreciated that the first ten chapters are a lead up before the crash so we know what we're dealing with. The villains aren't the usual suspects and neither are the friends. Edward's character is such an asshole at the beginning it's almost too difficult to read. But I stuck with it knowing that there must be some form of redemption and a love story with it. I wasn't disappointed. If you like reading E get all soft and mushy on B then you'll be happy.
Word to the wise - if you're like me and keep reading to get to a good steamy part you'll be reading for a while. There is a lot of cockblocking in this fanfic but it doesn't feel out of place. If there were more lemons it would be out of character for this Bella.
The title felt obvious to me but I didn't really get the deeper meaning of it until I got to the last two pages. It kept me happy and surprised until the end.
Wishing there were outtakes but you know we can't have everything!

I see that some of you have now been reading Pound of Flesh by jaxon22. Well she has another story that is not as dark but still very good. Sometimes you need light but it's not fluffy.

Help Wanted by Jaxon22

Plot - Bella starts a position as the personal assistant to the arrogant, rude, and distant Hollywood actor Edward Cullen. She gets to find out more about the real man behind the facade. Lemons and love ensue.

As I mentioned this story is lighthearted and swoon worthy. Edward is the ultimate Hollywood jackass with a sordid past. There's a scene early in the story where Bella is reading lines with Edward and they kiss. It's surprisingly hot for just a small kiss. The writing is good and the lemons get much more involved. There are the standard trials and tribulations that Bella has to deal with being in the public eye with Edward. But it's still cute and worth reading.

There are Outtakes showing Edward's POV of Bella's job interview and their important moments. Definitely need to check those out after you're done the main story.

Hydraulic Level 5 by Gondolier

I'm really an indoor girl. I don't do extreme sports. I live at the bottom of a ski hill and haven't been up it in over 10 years. So you can understand my reluctance to read Hydraulic Level 5 by Gondolier. For all you non water folk the title is a white water rafting reference and the first chapter is set during a rafting trip. I got completely lost with all the terminology and felt icky and wet. It also starts with a story about children named Tony, Isabel, Daisy, and Evan. It left me confused.

But you know what? I acknowledge I was confused because I'm an idiot.

This story is worth the read and it really does NOT revolve around sports. And the story of the little kids is for a memoir Edward is writing so it's super duper sweet.

Plot - Edward and Bella are childhood sweethearts who get married young and then divorce. Edward becomes the celebrity author of the Spoon Creek Vampires series. Bella is in PR and lives in Washington still and it's been 7 years since their breakup. They will need to see each other again for Rosalie and Emmett's wedding. As always it's a story of them fighting it out, lots of sexual tension, and then rekindling their friendship and romance.

This fanfic works for many reasons. It glimpses into the celebrity life a la Robert Pattinson with his crazed fans and paparazzi. It walks you through their childhood anecdotes without boring you. And it has unexpected twists and turns that make your heart wrench but yet seem natural and obvious in hindsight.

It's not heavy on the lemons so I deem it as a mature fic eg. you need to be a grownup to appreciate the story without the sex. You read it for the lovely storyline and powerful message.

Don't forget she has Hydraulic Level 5 Outtakes as well.

Things I found that I thought I'd share

Heat of the Blue Flame by 107 Year Old Virgin

This fic is incomplete. It still gets through lots of good stuff so definitely worth a read. It's the kind of story that makes me remember what it's like to fall in love. To have someone who can pull you out of the numbness of just existing.
Edward is a photographer. Mysterious and hot as always. Bella is his angst normal girl subject. It's a very sweet story that moves quite quickly so you aren't left hanging for too long.
The author 107 Year Old Virgin is quite famous in the fandom so I'm sure you will be seeing me rec more of her stories.

What Are the Chances

This is a weird fic but feels brilliant. Reminds me of a short story you might receive in a couple paragraphs everyday in the paper. Considering how few words there are the characters and story is rich. It is written by danieller123 of Under the Apple Tree fame (see other rec here).
It is very sweet and even though there are currents of age difference which reminded me of Celine Dion it was not in poor taste.
This story is finished and the ending leaves you feeling a bit incomplete but actually more at peace. You'll have to read it to find out :)

Men Without Eyes

This story is about Edward in a wheelchair. No, he's not blind. But he is crotchety and it's assumed that he's hot. Bella is the new neighbour across the street. It is also incomplete so it's a short read. It still has a ways to go so if you get frustrated easily maybe save this one for a later date when it's further along.

You know how we get random Twilight thoughts all through the day? Like when I saw this set of matches at my sisters place

Well, random Twilight strikes even when I submerge myself into a man's world.

I live in a house full of testosterone - Mr. TC and my two little boys decidedly make the place all blue with no pink in sight. But even then, I see Twilight everywhere!

Literally. Case in point:

So you hear that guys? There is a Jedi starship called the Twilight. Although I'm sure the guys who actually care already know this sort of geeky tidbit anyways. Surprisingly my 7 year old let this one go and didn't tease me about the Twilight part. God he must have been tired to have missed that one (or could I have raised a boy who was nice and would refrain from teasing his dear mom? I don't think so.)

This one is a no brainer. First off, I would officially call myself a hockey widow but that is no different than the wife of almost every Canadian man around. It's hockey playoffs and we all know that, if the guys have their way, we won't see them for weeks except to show up in the kitchen to replenish beer and chips.

We even have to put up with the playoff beard - for those of you who don't know the players and hardcore fans are superstitious about shaving during playoffs. Sounds like Samsonite and Delilah right? I think it's just an excuse to look and act like slobs.

So how does this relate to Twilight? Other than the fact that when my husband is off watching hockey I get to post, twitter, and read my Twi-smut fanfic in peace?

Twilight has finally managed to make hockey sexy to me.

Enter Hockeyward

"God that is so hot, you are so fucking hot," he declares as he assists me in removing his shirt. He's still staring at my chest, and then his eyes move up to my face and back down again. I'm not sure what is 'so hot' or what it is about me that he finds so appealing other than that I'm willingly grinding all over him, but I'm not going to try and dissuade him if that's what he thinks.
Once his chest is bare and I can see the thick, flexing, sinewy hot-as-fuck muscles of his arms--not to mention the rest of his upper body--I totally forget about the nipple sucking deal and how sad I was that he stopped.
I pause my desperate grinding and just focus on what's in front of me. "Now that is nice," I whisper in approval because Jesus mo-fo Christ does this man ever have a rockin' body. One of the first thing my eyes are drawn to are his two tattoos, on the upper bicep of each arm. I'm such a sucker for tattoos. On his right arm is a waving Canadian flag, and on the left is some sort of crest that's all in black. I don't really care what it is, all I know is that it's sexy as hell.

Mr. TC hasn't figured out why I suddenly like watching playoffs with him and that I'm not bugging him as much about being a hockey widow. Little does he know that every time there's a hit on the ice my panties disintegrate just a little bit.

Gotta run. Mr. TC just got back from playing hockey tonight and is heading for a shower. Oh, he and all the other Canadian guys should send hunterhunting a f*cking fruit basket for writing her fic.

Getting back at 1am from a late night hockey game stinking like wet hockey gear has now become foreplay.

Hello my lovelies - here is a long overdue Twilight related post from home. I realize it's as if I've fallen off the face of the earth the last few weeks. Getting off the plane from Hong Kong and then leaving less than a week later for Las Vegas - I can't complain. My blog will be neglected again this weekend but hopefully we'll have some saucy tales from Sin City to share with you on my return.

If you missed my original post about why I'm heading to Vegas it's here. We surprised my super good friend DQ with a girls weekend away for her 40th birthday and we let her in on the secret in an unusual way - from my blog! It's funny that she truly didn't realize what was going on until half way through my post - who else would we be taking backstage to meet Donny Osmond? Needless to say we are all super stoked.

What new Twilight developments this week?

First, of all, did you notice my new badge on the left? It's been there for a couple of weeks but I didn't have a chance while in Hong Kong to explain.

I'm proud of my Twi-Bite Trifecta award although I have something in store I haven't sent to Mrs. P that should line me up for a quad soon. That woman is going places - she's got us running around the world with her avi and her virtual airmiles are starting to rack up.

Okay, so you wanted more vampires from Stephenie Meyer?


As most of you know Stephenie Meyer is releasing a novella about Bree. Apparently it was meant for the Eclipse Movie Companion Guide but was too big.

Honestly, I wish I were more excited about it. I loved Twilight for Edward & Bella, not for the vampires and the supporting characters. Unless Bree had this secret crush on Edward that takes up 80% of the book I'm expecting to be disappointed. Is that bad?

I haven't commented yet on the new Eclipse poster that has been released a while back.


I am also not a fan of this poster. Specifically something is off about Rob's face. I don't know if it's the softly pleading sad look he has or just that I like real photos better than graphics. Also note that you can now order the Eclipse Book with this cover now here. The other Paperback Eclipse Media tie in is one with just Bella and it's available for pre-order here.


On a weirder note, the subject of wax figures. I had forgotten that Las Vegas had a wax museum. The idea creeps me out and I've never wanted to go inside one. When they announced that a wax figurine of Robert Pattinson was coming out I actually got a tiny bit excited. But then I realized it will be only in London and I won't be there until June. Do you think it looks like him? I feel like they made his eyes too small and his neck a bit too long. Not bad though. I guess if it was TOO good, the drool, hump, and steal risk factor would go up.


Lastly, I have been neglecting my fanfic recommendations. So here are some thing that kept me busy while in Hong Kong:

I have to confess to my lovely friend Jelena at Twiholic that I had put off reading her fanfic for a while. It wasn't just her fic but I had not started a new fanfic since the inception of this blog. But boy am I glad that I chose a time where I could read the whole thing through all in one go - back to back chapters of love and lust Bella and Edward. It is a beautiful story so please give it a read. I'm waiting for updates girl :)

This smutty version of Cinderella is great. It's at a precipice right now so I'm anxious waiting for HG to update. It's a fairy tale for sure and I love HG's writing style. Of course I'm also fond of it because she has hosted it on her own blog and hence it has it's own Twi-Mobile site. Did I mention that reading fanfic on my iphone is one of the greatest things in life?

This story I've mentioned before but just so you know Call of Booty by Poptarrts and Stoney just updated last night. I get as excited about their updates as I do for Master of the Universe and University of Edward Masen so that's saying something. Those girls are so good at depicting the addict's point of view it makes you wonder where they get their insight from ;) Just kidding. They made me cry big tears and then smile again in the next paragraph. Please go check out their update and don't forget they have a Twi-Mobile version too.

Lastly, Stan from Twi-sted Edbrella has helped spearhead Twific Promotions to help out fanfics that have less than 500 reviews. Considering that there are almost 140,000 fanfics listed under Twilight it's no wonder a new author really has their work cut out for them. If you know of any good stories that deserve more attention go check them out.

Site updates

Have you all noticed my lovely new banner?

I was inspired by the new digs that Jelena put on her blog Confessions of a Twiholic. Seeing as I am not good with huge change (because I'm so indecisive) I decided to just update my banner.

A huge shout out to MissAmyJoon for dealing with my finicky OCD ways and creating a beautiful banner. Poor thing got a whopping huge email from me with specs but then miraculously pulled out a twilight cupcake photo from my post about my Twilight Dinner Party that I had not even asked her to use.

She is a genius and I thank her for incorporating my personal spin on the banner. Without her I never would have been able to add in the pastries I so lovingly make.

My blog is officially 6 weeks old! I feel like I've been blogging longer than that and I am on my 45th post. I have met a wonderful world of Twibloggy friends and have 24 followers so far and counting. Thanks to everyone for their support especially since I am on my lonesome being a Wordpress girl.

This week for my Fanfic Recommendation I'm going to add something new to the list. It's a humourous one by Poptarrt and Stoney called Call of Booty.

For those of you who don't have an XBox or PS3 in your house, it's a play on the game Call of Duty which sometimes threatens to suck up all the extra time and brain space our husbands have. Picture guys glued to multiple networked computers for so many hours that they only get up to pee when they're about to explode (I guess that could also describe me and a good fanfic).

Their title is not to be confused with this Call of Booty.

Mr. TC likes videogames. We have a PS3 in our bedroom and he plays some Grand Theft Auto and NHL. When we have guests he'll break out the Rockband or Guitar Hero. But thank god he's not that into first person shooters and networking with his buddies.

I like this fic because it is juicy and a parody of Twilight's premise but twisted so that Bella is the predator and Edward is a videogame nerd. Being the geek that I am (and previous arcade lounging girlfriend) this fic called to me and I couldn't help but read it from start to finish in one sitting. It's only 7 chapters so far but I think it will be good.

Okay, the last weekend of Olympics is upon us. I'll be attending the Closing Ceremonies with the kids and I'll do a sum up post of sorts.

I'm totally choked that Rob Pattinson will be on the TODAY show on March 1st. That is a mere 2 days after they leave my neighbourhood. Jimmy Fallon drove by my house this morning and I didn't know either. We keep missing stuff and then watch it later in the morning and go "really, they were here?"

I wonder what Rob's hair will look like. Assuming that he is still filming Bel Ami his hair is likely to look like it did at the BAFTAs.

Of course you know me and my dislike of long hair so I am hoping that he goes back to Robward hair soon.

But seriously, the man kills me in a tux everytime.

I just got my copy of Vogue today. It weighs a good hefty 5 lbs at least and I bought it for the 4 pages it has on Rob and Emilie de Ravin talking about their latest movie Remember Me which hits the theatres March 12th.

Worth it because I do think they look lovely here

Even though I have an Olympics post pending Fanfic Fridays come first.
I've mentioned Master of the Universe (MotU) before and I'm sure most of you ff diehards are already following this one. This story has over 40,000 reviews! It just updated again and sounds like it might be winding down. Like nearing the end of a book I'm feeling weepy and missing it already.

There are subtle clues that the author must be from the UK but I like her writing style. She definitely gives a lot of internal monologue to Bella and she really thinks the way of the everywoman.

The story has just enough of a mysterious, gorgeous, billionaire (like has his own helicopters and yachts) Edward who has secrets that make him a bit mercurial to say the least. Bella can't help loving him but they have their ups and downs of course. He has a penchant for S&M; which I always like to see in a fanfic.

This story isn't just about the lemons. It has a nice plot and the character development, even for the supporting ones, is excellent. You really do care about what happens to them and there are still secrets to be discovered so close to the end.

Happy reading, it's on chapter 70 and worth every minute of it.

It has come to my attention that some of my books are being burned. Figuratively of course. Even though the Olympic torch is coming right by my house today (squeals) they ain't stopping to do any damage.

No, I'm talking about the latest Twitter freakout most of us twihards are having.

You know I love me some fanfic. Some good old fashioned porn to be honest. There is a lockdown happening at http://www.fanfiction.net/ to get rid of some of the fic with hard core lemons.

This has some of us scared to pieces. After all, life would have been so different if I hadn't found The Office, The Submissive/The Dominant/The Training, and Emancipation Proclamation (what are these? we'll get there in a minute).

I was hoping to save some of these treasurhated fanfic recs for Fanfic Fridays at a later date. It seems that someone out there wants me to hurry up and tell the world about them NOW.

Most of us are hoping that when they move these stories the authors will be able to move them to their own blogs (like Wide Awake or the Emancipation Proclamation).


Also, those of us who are really hardcore lemon fans have already been following some stories on http://www.twilighted.net/. But for those newbies, now it means that you've got to cross that line to go read because you have to create a twilighted.net account. On the plus side, twilighted.net stories usually have banners so it's prettier but it is less user friendly than fanfiction.net

It doesn't take long to sign up for a http://www.twilighted.net/ account - just make up a username, password, and give them your email.

And, neither the twilighted.net or independent blog choices is fanfic downloader friendly - dangit, just when I'd learned to use the darn thing.

I'm not freaking out. After all, ladies, it's just fanfic. We still have our health. But I'm just taking precautions and keeping my copy somewhere safe. You should too.

As an alternative to reading twilight lemons, there is always going to be regular erotica. Twitarded posted yesterday a page full of non twilight erotica recommendations, some of which have been around for decades and are classics. Odd to think that you're grandma could have been getting off to the same story but sometimes the oldies are the goodies. Okay, bad imagery going on here...



Just for Lisa at 17foreverlisa I'll make a post tomorrow about whether or not you can find any of this classic erotica as an ebook and if so, where to find it. Time for some more research...
