Twilight, Travel, and Treats

Reflections of a Twihard on all things twilight, travel, and treats.

So I missed it. I've been waiting all day for Rob pictures to see where he is in my city and I missed it. What happened? I got distracted by those blue people with tails because I finally had a chance to see a movie.

Mommy TC has come back into town from Hong Kong and took the kids off our hands so Mr. TC and I could go for dinner and a movie. By the way, Mommy TC theoretically doesn't know I have a blog. She knows I'm a Twihard though because she helped me set up for the Twilight dinner party last year.

Click to see the party these cupcakes were destined for.
Also yesterday she was in my walk in closet and asked me "do you still need this box?" and was motioning to throw it out. I immediately screamed "Oh my god, don't touch it. Edward's in there!"

Poor Edward is back in my closet now

I was busy crying my eyes out to Avatar when the newest Vancouver Rob pics came out today on Popsugar at 9:20pm.

Seriously could he have found a dirtier jacket?
Does Ralph Lauren make it this way?

I would love to know why this guy is and where he sells his stuff

Don't worry about the food Rob. It's good :)
So after some pondering, researching, and then "uh duh" moments I realized which restaurant in Vancouver that Rob was eating lunch at with his friend Sam Bradley. They have good food and even better beer (not that I know since I'm a vodka kind of girl). If you ever come through Vancouver I'll be happy to take you there some time.

Interesting that he was there with no security. This shocks me despite it being a Thursday afternoon. Don't they know there are crazy fan bitches who have the day off? Lucky for him the kids had too many activities today and I didn't have a chance to scour the city with MK (no, I'm not saying you are a crazy fan bitch, I was talking about the other people we see lurking on the street).

Anxiously awaiting to see if after tomorrow's day of shooting at the studio he looks clean shaven aka like he was actually trying to be Edward. There is no way he came here just to hang with Kristen :)

So why the title of the post? Well, Vancouver is notoriously gloomy and I'm sure that the re-shoot had to re-jig a bit to accommodate the suddenly nice weather.

You can see there is definitely sun shining on Rob from behind him. The guy arrives in town and the sun hasn't stopped shining. Are the skies reflecting my giddiness that I am that much closer to the Precious? The following pic from my iPhone tonight should tell you how happy the heavens are that Rob is here.

See the pink clouds? Even the angels are smiling on him
I really should put my guitar in the trunk just in case I spot him on the way to work and can get him to autograph it. That is what a good fan would do...until tomorrow.

Quick sidenote, I don't know who started calling our city The Couve but I don't like it. It's like calling San Francisco "Frisco" - it's just plain wrong. There is no nickname for Vancouver and we like it that way. Sorry but they don't call this British Columbia for nothing.

So despite all the pleadings of my bloggy friends I didn't drop all my patients for the day and hang out at Vancouver Airport. Once again, here is Rob leaving Heathrow. I am personally okay with the jacket because I forgive everyone for their clothing choices when they visit the Pacific Northwest. It can be freakin' miserable cold and rainy one moment and then a beautiful sunny day the next.

Everyone seems to hate on the puffy jacket.
(from Popsugar)

There was talk of re-shooting some meadow scenes that might have some sound interference but apparently those were just with Bella and Jacob. I am glad that today was sunny for them but wonder if they were expecting it. Unlikely since Eclipse looks exceptionally dark and twisty. Maybe they'll have to stay longer to wait for the rainy gloom.

Update - thanks to Twired Jen for reminding me to check my regular Vancouver celebrity sighting blogs that are posting more pics and info. Of course they post after the location is done with as to not raise all hell.

Happy to finally see some photos that he has arrived in town. The ones on Popsugar are non descript at best but at least we can identify that there is a Vancouver Police officer with him.

from Popsugar

Once again, torn between wanting to know where he is so I can throw him in the back of my SUV ask him politely to sign my guitar (as suggested by Dangrdafne) and just leaving him alone so he can be in peace.

Yeah for MK offering to come with me this week to check out the Vancouver sights (eg. set stalk). I have the day off on Thursday sweetie so let's make it a date. Darn the kids and all their sports though, maybe I can take them with me instead...

Speaking of kids, my good friend BB gave my children a book yesterday. Apparently she was at a fundraiser for kids where they were selling gently used toys and books. Of all the things she could have bought them you know what she surprised them with?

Anyone recognize this book?

Yes, it's actually been on this blog already on my Remember Me props for sale post.

Get the f*ck out - same book!
Seriously. BB is not a twihard and I doubt she has ever heard of Remember Me. Yet of all the books in the world she could have bought for me (well for the kids originally) she chose that one.

I even remember during Remember Me when Tyler gives Caroline the book I think - what an awesome book, my boys would love it. Oh isn't that sweet that he's passed on something so meaningful.

Squeals with hugs and kisses to BB (yes, honey I made you read my blog and scroll all the way through a post - have you thrown up yet?) for being an intuitive sweetheart.

I hate to say it though - the book mysteriously disappeared off my sons shelf and magically ended up in my Twilight vault :)

Hoping for more Rob Vancouver sightings tomorrow...

So I am sitting at my desk at lunch and about to see my 1:30pm patient. I NEVER post from work and don't usually have time to eat lunch. Today is different. Somehow the Twilight gods are smiling on me and let me have enough time to check the web and also post!

So, PopSugar this am posted photos of Rob leaving Heathrow

(I don't have time to post the photos today in my super type A bloggy fashion so click the link above).

Question is - are these actually from yesterday and released a day late to throw off the paps?

Is he really already here in Vancouver?

After all, if Kristen is shooting a meadow scene today is he here with her? Or is she with Taylor reshooting the dream sequence where she imagines their kids?

What do you think?

Okay, back to work...

I must thank Twired Jen for sending me this email on Tuesday afternoon while I was at work.

Hey!
So KStew and Taylor were spotted leaving LAX at different times today to go to Vancouver to possibly re-shoot a couple scenes...YOU BETTER HUNT THEM DOWN GIRL!
xoxo J
Wow, that girl can be demanding! By the time I read her email and tweets I was already on my way home. If I had known they were coming today I would have considered cancelling my patients and camping out at the airport. But, I was okay to know that they were coming and that I might not see Kristen or Taylor.

I saw this first today on Twired Jen's blog

Then Twired Jen posted that they had indeed landed and we were speculating about why she looked so happy.

Also saw it today on Jen's blog.
Seriously never seen KStew this happy before.
How much liquor did she have on that flight?

Is it possible Kristen was so happy because a certain adorkable British guy would be coming to Vancouver too? I let Twired Jen know that if indeed Rob was in town that I would die.

Well, I am dead. According to the Pattinson Ladies on Facebook he has landed.

But I want proof. A picture of him at baggage claim or even a quick smoke outside his hotel. I don't want a swarm of people hounding him but maybe a small phone pic. Would that be too much to ask?

Rob looks happy enough to be safe in the car while swarmed
I am stuck in the quandary of wanting to know every single move he makes and wanting to let him live a normal life. The crazy fan girl keeps wanting to push past the rational level headed mom/doctor side of me.

Isn't that sick? Oh well, I guess a couple of days ago I was talking about buying a T shirt just because Rob might have sweat in it. This almost seems more normal.

I can't wait to see what tomorrow will bring in the Twilight Vancouver world. So excited! Almost worth missing work to look for sets...

Before I forget, I got an email last week from Robmusement asking if I would collaborate with her on the 120 Reasons to Love Rob post. Humbled and honoured to be guest posting somewhere for the first time (not counting my Twibite challenge of course).

So as not to spoil her fun, head over to see my top 10 Reasons for Loving Rob.

On to more shopping...

Since yesterday's post seemed to garner more votes for buying the Remember Me baseball bat than anything else, I thought I'd share with you some more shopping goodies.

First of all, there is the Bella's engagement ring that was designed in collaboration with Stephenie Meyer so it's "official." It is from the Infinite Jewelry Co. in Utah - see article here and to order click here.

.
This is the screen cap from the Eclipse trailers

The movie one is very unique - that is sometimes a bad thing. If it was all diamonds then I suppose that it really would be brilliant and I can't wait to see it in the movie. It does seem to be more true to the book description though than the "official" one that is available for sale from Infinity.
Nestled into the black satin, Elizabeth Masen’s ring sparkled in the dim light. The face was a long oval, set with slanting rows of glittering round stones. The band was gold — delicate and narrow. The gold made a fragile web around the diamonds.

In the one-of-a-kind category today, Confessions of a Twicrack Addict posted that a Kristen Stewart customized Coach bag is up for auction here. It's for the Jackie Chan charitable foundation so the site is initially in Chinese.

I love my Coach bags and I love some KStew. But couldn't she have added some colour to it? And does that say YESS on the side? I'm assuming the girl knows how to spell so if anyone can enlighten me as to what this picture is supposed to be let me know. Mr. TC is looking over my shoulder and saying "you aren't going to bid on that are you?" I think he's seriously scared. He must have read yesterday's post about putting the Remember Me fire extinguisher in the front hall.

Lastly, any Blackberry Curve users out there? I've added some Twilight wallpapers for you alongside some new iPhone ones as well at Twi-Mobile. Check them out here!

Since I didn't win the Rob Pattinson autographed guitar I have been looking for something new (or old) of Rob's. You know it makes me feel sad that "everyone wants a piece of Rob" yet I am so guilty of this. I'd be the crazy fan who'd save the napkin that he used in a bar and then put it in the vault.

So, the next big auction at icollector.com has a few pieces of Remember Me memorabilia. I didn't care before but now that I have finally seen the movie I am stoked.

What's up for auction? Click here for the full list.

Things I'm considering

Fugly backpack

The dreaded backpack that made Rob look "like he was 8" according to Mrs. P.

Still fugly even on Rob

Next up

Seriously it's just a T shirt

worn here
I love how the tag says "Big Rob" - as if we needed any proof
Anyone want to know his clothing sizes?
Someone has already bid on this outfit:

I can't get myself to outbid the $400
as the fake blood just grosses me out.

More clothing (I'm not convinced he actually wore this specific shirt as another one sold a few weeks ago - same item and that one said screenworn)

looks plain enough
but what if he wore it here?
Lastly,

Tempting as it is to buy the screen used fire extinguisher Rob actually threw through the window, I think that Mr. TC would probaby throw it out of the house. Seriously. I mean the shipping alone would be crazy. Could you imagine if I kept it in the front hall or something?

So, the question at the end of this is - how much do you think Rob's sweat is actually worth? According to someone it's at least 400 bucks for that bloody outfit. I'm sure some of you are going "eeww, gross" while others are secretly thinking "hmm, I wonder what it's like to lick him."

Auction starts May 1st - what would you get?

On a separate note, I've got new Twilight wallpapers for you over at Twi-Mobile. I've just started an archive of Twilight wallpapers for iPhone and will be adding that plus a Twilight apps section.
Blackberry users don't despair. I sense that some Twilight wallpapers are coming your way as well but I need to know what models you have.
Anyone with another type of phone wanting Twilight wallpapers too? Let me know what kind of phone you have and we'll we what we can do.

Leave me some love!

So you know how you get random Twilight moments through the day? I heard a song on the radio today and started crying - it was a song sung by French-Canadian singer Garou called "First Day of My Life" It's not the first time I've heard it but I hadn't listened to the words before.

I realized it - this is Edward's theme song. It has brooding hot suffering soul written all over it.

Bella has a lullaby so Edward needs a song too right?

You have to check out these lyrics. They are so fitting it's as if Garou is a secret Twilight fan himself. (Note, I realize now this was a Mel C song first which is more familiar. I like this Garou version much better for Edward though, don't you think?)

Lyrics to First Day of My Life - Sung by Garou
(I'm dubbing this Edward's Theme Song)

So I found a reason
To stay alive
To try a little harder
See the other side

Talking to myself
Too many sleepless nights
Trying to find a reason
To this stupid life

Chorus
Don't want your sympathy
Sometimes I don't know how to be
Hey, what you're looking for
No one knows the answer
They just want more
Hey, who's gonna make it right
This could be the first day of my life
Chorus

So I found a reason
To let it go
Tell you that I'm smiling
But I still need to grow

Will I find salvation
In the arms of love
Will it stop me searching
Will it be enough

Chorus

The first time to really feel alive
The first time to break the chain
The first time to walk away from pain

Hey, what you're looking for
No one knows the answer
They just want more
Hey, who's gonna shine a light
This could be the first day of my life

So this is a call to my talented bloggy friends out there who happen to have some video skills. You know who you are. I am dying to watch a Twilight video set to this song but I am a total video techtard. I am asking you, pretty please?? Edward will surely thank you that he now has his own song. I think he's been jealous of Bella's Lullaby for a while.

This post is not about Mrs. Pattinson (that's Twibite's territory) but it does relate to Rob's Mom. I'll get there, just stay with me...

Unlike the rest of you out there I did not rush out to go see Remember Me. I waited until the absolute last possible moment to succumb to the guilt and finally gave in. I was lucky to have my good friends MK and Mrs. R join me at the only place that was still running the movie this week. My suspicions were that if we didn't see it this week then we'd be waiting for the DVD. Of course, I'll buy it anyways...

I did NOT see the Chinese version
(pic courtesy of Thinking of Rob)

Most of you have seen it so I'm not going to rehash the plot and for those of you who haven't I'm not going to spoil it for you.

First of all, this movie was a wake up call.

Up until last night I viewed myself as a Robward fan and frankly, embarrassingly, had not seen Rob in anything else other than Twilight except for his brief role as Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter. I was prepared to be disappointed just because I was worried I'd notice his terrible New York accent and that he might be a bad actor.

Well I was really impressed by Remember Me. Rob proved to me that he is a good actor and that he is just being held back by a poor screenplay in the Twilight Saga. I'm sure many of you knew this already and never doubted him but I had to see it for myself.

Things of note in Remember Me:

Did anyone notice in the fancy restaurant dinner scene how strangely he holds his fork? Check out the video below at point 1:11. Maybe it's just because he's British (or possibly gay)? It was so odd that I don't remember the dialogue but just kept staring at his fingers.

Where does the Rob's Mom part come in?

Here is Rob with his Remember Me onscreen sister Ruby Jerins and mom Lena Olin.

I did not know that Lena Olin was in this movie. If I had I probably would have seen it sooner.

Lena Olin aka Rob's Mom
You see, I've had a wee bit of a girl crush (to use a Twired Jen term) on Lena Olin since I was young. I don't even know when it started. Have you ever seen The Unbearable Lightness of Being? Well, despite how erotic it was I couldn't have fallen for her because of it since I was only 12 at the time.

Rob's Mom in 1988
Maybe it was the Roman Polanski flick The Ninth Gate from 1999 that made me start following her. I originally saw it because it was a Johnny Depp movie.

Johnny Depp and Rob's Mom Lena Olin
She was haunting in her role in Chocolat (another Johnny Depp movie) as a battered wife.

And most recently Rob's Mom played an evil sexy mom to Jennifer Garner in the television series Alias.

Imagine if Rob and Jennifer Garner were siblings?
So, Remember Me left me thinking about Rob Pattinson and Jennifer Garner as siblings. It also made me go "isn't that sweet? sigh..." every time he was with his on-screen younger sister.

Ooh, isn't that sweet? He looks so cute doting after her.
Lastly, and the saddest part of this post, this movie reminded me that Rob is really just a kid. He is only 23 and although that is the same age I was when I got married so he is technically an adult, it does remind me that I am celebrating my 10 year wedding anniversary. You'd have to swap the numbers in my age to make me the same age as him and that just isn't right.

What really brought it home that he is an infant? The famous backpack shot from the cafe.

Seriously he is so a kid.
At least he's wearing both straps so his back
won't get hurt when he grows up.
On a totally separate note, I think I'm going to the Twilight Convention in May. Thank you to everyone for weighing the options with me. Ultimately my best friend MK chiming in on the comments offering to come with me and give me an alibi in case I'm caught by a patient was the push that I needed. Yeah to meeting Peter Facinelli and Catherine Hardwicke in 3 weeks :)

There is a Twilight Convention coming to Vancouver on May 14-16, 2010 and thus far I do not have tickets. Somehow I don't feel compelled to attend - is that odd?

I consider myself to be a very big Twilight fan (well, not actually big because I'm really Alice-sized but you know what I mean). You want evidence? Well...

- I have a frickin blog where that's the first word in the title.

- I made my husband drive me to Forks last year (click to see my Forks travel posts if you haven't seen them).

Click the pic from La Push last year to see my Forks trip.

- There is a full size Edward in my closet (mind you he's hiding in his box but still I know he is there while I'm changing into my undies). Yes, he's left over from my Twilight dinner party last year.

Click to see my beautiful Twilight dinner party.

- I own, not one set, but two sets of Barbies Bella and Edward. You know, one to collect and one to play with. Mind you I only have one Jacob and it's just in case I want to re-enact Edward kicking Jacob's ass one day.
- I have forked out too much $$ for autographed stuff from Stephenie Meyer, Robert Pattinson, and Kristen Stewart. (Of note I have yet to make a detailed post about my autographed stuff from my pre-blog days - I'll have to get around to it one day.)

My latest autographed item - click to see the post

- I am diverting our wedding anniversary trip to Italy in June away from fashion capital Milan just to go to the dusty old countryside villages of Volterra and Montepulciano (note I am not into antiques or anything that is old - see my post on aging Pierce Brosnan).

- I own copies of the Twilight books in Chinese and Japanese even though I can't read them.

- I started playing the guitar just to try and learn Never Think - by the way, this has not panned out well. God bless Rob and his long fingers.

Click Rob's hands for Twilight piano sheet music

- I actually bid over $3000 on the Rob Pattinson autographed guitar on ebay last month. And no, I didn't win.

So with the above list you would think I'd be jumping at the chance to spend an entire weekend immersed in Twilight and excited about the possibility of meeting Catherine Hardwicke and Peter Facinelli. But I'm not. In fact, I feel a bit numb about the whole thing.

Am I broken? What is wrong with me? Mr. TC actually pointed out a sign to me today while shopping that said they are having a contest to win Twilight convention tickets inside the store and I didn't blink an eye and just kept walking.
(By the way Vancouverites, London Drugs is having a contest in the cosmetics department.)

I'm not sure why I'm feeling so reticent. On the one hand, in our city I actually have some professional image to uphold - hence, I try (key word here is try) to maintain some anonymity on this site. Would it be weird if you were with your teenage daughter and saw your doctor in line in front of you gushing to PFach that he did a good job suturing in New Moon?

Couldn't exactly tell PFach that he has a great ass in Supernova

Or what if you saw your gyne giggling like a schoolgirl trying to choose which Edward panties to buy? Maybe you guys don't think it would be that weird and would actually think it was cool or funny? Let me know your honest thoughts on this one.

On the other hand, and I actually feel most awkward about this reason, I'm wondering if part of me is just embarrassed at the idea of attending a Twilight Convention. It's the same weird feeling I used to get when I'd be inconspicuously walking by the now-defunct Twilight table at my local bookstore. If someone saw me there I would just walk even faster and look away. I am not judging anyone here. I am just as deep into twi-obsession as the rest of my blogging buddies. Yet, why do I feel so ashamed of this gigantic obsession when having to face it in real life?

I should be able to admit I am certainly one of these fans or worse
I am infatuated to the point of having (not one) but two blogs dedicated to Twilight yet I don't know if I can bring myself to actually go to this convention. I don't think I should have a problem admitting that I am one of those crazed fans that attends these things. Come to think of it, how many Twilight fanblogs are there that originate from Vancouver? I can think of a few celebrity sighting blogs but none that are just Twilight related. In that case, am I Vancouver's Super Twilight-fan? Oh god, would I be considered the "#1 Fan" - you know like the kind that stalked Whitney Houston in The Bodyguard? Well, that's just creepy.

Despite the crap acting I really enjoyed this movie.

On another less crazy note, I have some Thank You's to give out today.

The first is long overdue. You may recall my friend Dangrdafne's first blog post ever was about the Olympics stuff that I sent her from Vancouver. Well, she sent back a lovely box to me as well. But due to the long customs lineup at Canada Post the package arrived while I was away in Hong Kong. So I got to watch my husband open it through video chat on Gmail. In addition to a cute card these are the things she included.

Can't wait to bake my way through this book

All of Dangrdafne's followers - recognize this gift bag?
So a huge thank you to Dangrdafne - I've been meaning to thank you for a month now and everytime I see the cupcake bag on your blog I freak out just a wee bit. Go check out her blog Dangrdafne's Days of Delirium - it is a bit of sanity and purity in this crazy world of Twitardia.

Which brings me to one of the dirtiest blogs I have the honour of listing on my blogroll. A gigantic thank you goes out to Mrs. P at Twibite for the awesome shout out post she gave me last week. Twi-Mobile was created, probably like most inventions, out of pure selfishness by a frustrated iPhone user - namely me. I am grateful for all the bloggy friends that let me persuade them to join and for all the new blogs that have joined since then - including Twitarded and Twilightish.

I was quite floored when Twilightish emailed me out of the blue last week asking to join Twi-Mobile. Seriously, they emailed me :) When I heard that Mrs. P put her pimp-out Twi-Mobile post on her Facebook fanpage and then subsequently got a warning email from Facebook that the post was too explicit I felt super guilty.

Seriously Facebook, this is what you were worried about?
But also very grateful as that whole Facebook thing prompted her to post the mother of all Rob cock posts (thanks to the mad manip skills of Tina's Been Rob'd). So, big hugs to Mrs. P (or a slap on the ass because that's what I think she really likes).

And lastly, did you catch earlier in this post that I now own the Japanese book versions of Twilight as well?

I got these wonderful treasures courtesy of my brilliant cousin VL. She happens to be the Hello Kitty obsessed relative I've mentioned before in my Hong Kong posts. I was so surprised to open up the package this week - squeals! I was not expecting these at all - they are very pretty. And, indeed there is not a hope in hell that I will ever be able to read these but I don't care.

By the way, they split Twilight itself into two smaller books about a 1/2 inch thick and only about 5 inches tall. The books come with a removable movie ad-on cover that goes overtop. It also depicts some of the colour graphic novel depictions from Japan.

Japanese anime Edward and Bella
All the books come split in two parts
Remember Japan is obsessed with Twilight too? Their Twilight movie opening was almost as big a deal over there as it was in North America. They are way more twitarded than Hong Kong or China.

Wow, looks like a big deal over there doesn't it
I love how it's telling Mrs. Pattinson to give him head
(what else is the arrow to his crotch for?)
(photo from TwiCrack Addict)
They also seem to do some lovely photoshoots of Rob over in Japan. Here is one from Robert Pattinson Australia that I just had to put up.

Final thank yous to my newest followers - yeah for having over 50 followers now! I am happy to hear from you and hope that the long winded tutorials actually prove to be of some use to somebody out there :)

For our iphone/ipod users, I will be adding a Twilight iphone app and wallpaper page soon to Twi-Mobile so stay tuned.
